Come join the fun at Kid Ventures Preschool Workshops starting Monday, January 11th. Each workshop includes a theme that corresponds to a letter of the alphabet along with an art project and manipulatives. Workshops focus on pre- reading readiness, language skills, cognitive development, large and fine motor skills. You and your child are sure to have a wonderful time all while building friendships in a fun and imaginative environment. Ideal for ages 2.5 to 6 years.
♦ Monday - Wednesday daily class times: 10:30am-11:15am and 4:30pm-5:15pm
♦ Thursday: 10:30-11:15am.
♦ Cost is $8 with paid admission to Kid Ventures or $10 for just the workshop (member fee is $8/workshop)

Kid Ventures Flip & Boogie Program is a fun and creative series of classes that focus on movement, basic gymnastics and dance while nurturing your child's physical development and imagination. Each class is 30 minutes long and includes a short warm up and 2 rotations. Cost is $10/class ($8 with paid admission to Kid Ventures). Kid Ventures members pay $8/class. We are now offering Flip & Boogie classes two days a week!

Ages 4-8 years
The Clever Little Adventurers is Kid Ventures' performing arts based class. Over 6 weeks, performers will learn basic theater skills including acting, vocal projection, singing, movement for the stage, dance, puppetry, and creative writing skills. The course will commence with a 10-15 minute performance for families and friends.
Age of participants: 4-8 years
Max participants: 10 children
Time of day: Thursdays at Kid Ventures from 4:30pm - 5:15pm
Dates: March 4- April 15 (There will be no class on March 25)
Duration: 6-week session
Cost: $100 (Kid Ventures members receive 10% discount)
The course's theme this session is "A Day At The Zoo." Each class will focus on different skills such as projection, memorization, and singing that are geared towards a performance activity such a learning a song. The course will be based off of the poem "At the Zoo" by A. A. Milne.

8 months - 6 years; and parents too!
This exciting new Kid Ventures course is designed to incorporate music into every child's daily life. Children are introduced to new sounds each week through song and instruments. Children will discover rhythm, tempo, dynamics, texture, and many more key elements. These elements are not only essential to a healthy musical knowledge but are a guide to a healthy childhood.
Age of participants: 8 months- 6 years; And parents too!
Time of day: Mondays from 12:45-1:30 PM (No class will be held March 22)
Cost: $10 per class (drop-ins welcome!) ($8 with paid admission to Kid Ventures or if you are a KV member)
Why teach music to your young child?
- The rhythm of music helps new walkers instill a basic sense of timing in their muscles and minds, leading to better coordination, balance, body awareness, strength, and physical grace.
- Songs can encourage expressive speech, increase vocabulary, and a sense of well-being and confidence.
- Dance and movement to music enhances your child's spatial and bodily-kinesthetic skills.
- Music teaches children about how their own bodies move and helps them recreate movements they discovered during a musical dance.

Instructor: Christa Lynn Sherman has been involved in music and theatre since a young age. She started learning piano at the age of four and continued on into her high school years. She competed in show choir and competitive dance during high school all over the Southern California area and continues to perform with her choir today. She has been directing and teaching children's theatre for over eight years. At age fourteen she started creating and running theatre workshops and camps for children in the North County area. She earned her BA in Directing from Marymount Manhattan College with a minor in Arts Education. She currently directs theatrical productions throughout San Diego County.

This amazing class teaches parents and babies effective two-way communication through a fun and simple combination of play, music, and American Sign Language signs. Come Sign, Sing, and Play with us, and open your eyes to your baby's amazing world!
Age of participants: Babies 6-24 months and parents
Max participants: 10 families
Min participants: 5 families
Duration: There are two 6-week sessions, A and B, that can be taken in any order.
Cost: $100 per 6-week session *plus $28.50 optional materials fee
Format: Weekly 45-minute parent/child play and learn class
Day & Time: Wednesdays @ 12:15pm
Dates: Classes will start up again in September
